Kastina to play host to NLO Super 8
The Nationwide League One (NLO) on Friday said that the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Kastina would play host to the 2017 NLO Super 8.
The clubs that won each of the eight groups in NLO Division One League will participate in the annual Super 8 tournament to determine the overall winner for the 2017 NLO Season.
The Super 8 tournament is the event that caps all the activities of the NLO and to as well determine the overall winner for the 2017 season, this event has no effects on the promotion already secured by the clubs.
A statement by NLO Chief Operating Officer, Olusola Ogunnowo, said that the week-long tournament would be decided in a later date in November.
"The Board and the Secretariat is making arrangements for the Super 8 scheduled for a date in the month of November 2017 (yet to be announced) in Katsina State.
"We advice all the concerned clubs to commence preparations for the event, while we conclude with Katsina State Government on the hosting of the event."
The teams that will battle for honours are; Delta Stars FC, J.Atete FC, Dynamite Force FC Edo, NAF FC, Giodano FC, Katsina Jnr FC, Aklosendi Utd FC, and Spartans FC.

Eagles arrive Algeria set to avoid defeat
Ahead of the last world Cup qualifying match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the fennecs of Algeria, the Nigeria contigent to the game have arrived Constantine, Algeria.
At exactly 1:34PM Nigeria time, players and officials arrived Constantine as announced on official Twitter handle of the Eagles, the reception from the Algerians were warm.
The Eagles will storm into action tomorrow and will try to avoid defeat of any sort against the bottom placed Algerians, the kick off is 8:30pm.
The match is the last of the group stage world cup qualifiers, with Nigeria already booked a place at next year’s mundial in Russia.

Katsina Utd unveils Biffo
Katsina State Governor tasks new Katsina United coach Abdullahi Biffo, codedreporter.blogspot.com.ng gathers.
Coach Abdullahi Biffo has been charged by Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari to add value to Katsina United after he signed a two-year contract with the NPFL outfit.
Biffo has replaced Bauldwin Bazuaye, who quit his post last week.
He will be assisted by Bishir Sadauki, who assisted coach Baldwin Bazuaye last season.
“The Governor has tasked coach Biffo to add more value to the club,” said club chairman Aminu Kurfi after the coach was presented to the public at the Katsina Government House Wednesday.
“We are confident we will achieve a lot together as a team.”
Last season, Katsina United finished 16th on the NPFL table with 58 points from 38 matches.
Biffo won promotion for Giwa FC of Jos to the NPFL four years ago. The graduate of physical and health education has also worked with Niger Tornadoes and Abia Warriors.

The newly promoted club decided to choose experience Baba Ganaru ahead of other applicant ahead of the new Nigeria Professional Football League 2017/18 .

The commissioner for Social Protection, Sports and Special Needs in the State of Osun, Hon. Biyi Odunlade has lauded the passion of the governor of the state of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola towards the development of sports in the state and grassroots in focus.
Com. Biyi Odunlade heaped a deserved encomium on Aregbesola's administration for supporting the grassroots developmental programmes of the ministry, which has started yielding a positive milestone in the history of the state.
While speaking at the event scheduled to host Osun born seventeen year old weight-lifter, Islamiat Yusuf, a new African Champion in the just concluded African Youth Games in Uganda, the honorable commissioner revealed that, there were plans by this administration to discover, nurture and develop numerous budding talents hidden in the nooks and crannies of the state.
"Am aware of various passionate athletes in the state that are ready to write the name of the state in gold.
"This administration will do everything to help these upcoming athletes to reach the pinnacle of their career. In few weeks time, more fascinating equipments will be delivered to Sports Council in order to facilitate the development of Osun athletes.
"Aregbesola does things seamlessly and the whole world will begin to see what he has in stock as incentives to motivate those that have done the state proud." Hon. Biyi Odunlade who is the Zonal Chairman of Nigeria Shooting Federation concluded.
Hon. Sola Oladepo who hosted the athlete, friends, Coaches and staffs of Osun State Sports Council charged Islamiat Yusuf and her compatriot, to always be the good ambassadors of the State of Osun, as he later splashed cash incentives on the athletes. Islamiat was given the sum of thirty thousand naira (30,000) as gift, while her University education will be single handedly sponsored by the host, Hon. Sola Oladepo who is the chairman management committee of Mandela Freedom Park in the state of Osun.
