Award Winning Philanthropist Olayiwola To Sink Borehole At Ogunjobi Football House

 

Poised to add value to the administration of football in Osun State, Olafiranye Olayiwola a leading Chairmanship candidate in the just concluded 2023 State FA election has promised to sink a borehole at the Ogunjobi Football House.

Named in honour of the late Chief Taiwo Joseph Ogunjobi, former Secretary General of the Nigerian Football Association, now Federation, the Ogunjobi Football House is to accommodate the Osun State Football Association and serve as secretariat.

The project which started in 2018 was among the football houses built by the Amaju Malvi Pinnick-led NFF Board.

Olayiwola who shocked stakeholders in the beautiful round leather game, when he stepped down in the race to become Osun State FA Chairman to support Sola Fanawopo, who ended up winning the election, made his good gesture known on Tuesday while receiving a meritorious AWARD OF EXCELLENCE presented by Nigeria Football Coaches Council (NFCC Osogbo Local Government) for his immense contribution towards the growth and development of football at the grassroot in Osun State. 

Meanwhile, Olayiwola extended his good gesture to the development of grassroot football in the state, after he redeemed his pledge of five soccer balls to Kamal FC.

Kits for grassroot teams are usually a challenge, kind-hearted Olayiwola has also promised Elebuibon Boyz FC (a team that will campaign in the NLO Youth League) a set of jerseys.

A board member representing Osogbo, Olorunda, Orolu and lrepodun on the board of Osun State Football Association Olusola Fayoyinwa has made his fulfillments of cash and trophy to a popular grassroot tourney, Surad Soccer Competition.

Fayoyinwa, who was re-elected into the board of the state FA is renowned for his love for grassroots and giving back to the constituency that paid his bill for many years while playing active football.

In his words while presenting the trophy, Sholay as he's fondly called eulogized football promoters in his constituency and promised to do more of supporting them with equipments and the likes. He also canvased support for the current board, adding that the board under the chairmanship of Sola Fanawopo will perform beyond expectations.

"I really want to appreciate those promoting soccer at the grassroots, they are doing the right thing and they need to be supported. It's my yearly ritual of contributing to tourney like this.

"In Orolu alone, I ensured the upsurge in grassroot teams, and that's what we keep encouraging always across locations. In few weeks, our affiliated teams will share more than 120 balls. We won't relent in supporting them, they will all enjoy a very strong reward system as highlighted by the freshly elected chairman of Osun FA." Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Otunba Bamidele Ologunloluwa has said that the recent success of Sunshine Stars in the Nigeria Premier League was the result of collective efforts. 

The young Sports Administrator was speaking on Wednesday during a live interview session on one of the most reputable online Sports group platform, Family United By Football (FUBF). Where he noted that no individual can lay claim to what he described as something everyone is proud, even though the team couldn't get a continental ticket at the Super 6. 

Sunshine Stars finished third in Group B with 27 points, qualifying for the Super 6 on the last day of the season after a 3-0 win against Dakkada FC. 

"There are many people who played parts, large and small in ensuring the team had a decent season. 

"The Governor, His Excellency Rotimi Akeredolu must be appreciated for his effort in making these positives happen and also for me, I am surrounded by great people with great minds. 

"From the General Manager, Prince Tunde Ogunja to the Team Manager, The General Coordinator, The Coaching Crew, the Players, the Fans and every other Stakeholders in the state, who supported the team all through. It's not a one man show,"

"I strongly believe next season is going to be better for Sunshine Stars. We are planning on getting better results, than we did in this just concluded season. Our main target is to become league Champions, which is very much possible." He concluded. 

The Owena Whales ended their Super 6 Championship playoff with a deserved win over Lobi Stars last week sunday.

Toki where he described the emergence of Comrade Fanawopo as the new Osun FA Chairman as wonderful development which will in no small way catapult the fortunes of Osun State football to greater heights.

As elections into the board of Benue State Football Association draws nearer, FA Chairmanship hopeful, Barrister Paul Edeh has stated in clear terms how he would further invest in football and facilitate its developments upon receiving the mantle.

Barrister Edeh, a Commercial and Property Lawyer, Human Rights Advocate, and Sports Promoter with keen interests in the promotion of the game of football, spoke brilliantly to a top sports platform, Family United By Football (FUBF), during a session tagged, 'Personality Interview'.

He expertly uncoiled fascinating programs aimed at improving grassroot football by empowering Local Football Councils with adequate resources and running a transparent administration cum fascinating reward system for stakeholders.

"A lot can be achieved by creating a model for Local Football Councils to operate like the State FA, if they can raise the funds needed, it will empower them to improve the game of football. Am planning to host nothing less than 10 tournaments in a year across the state, creating a reward system for exceptional players so that the state can become a talent hub of fantastic players.

"Also, am planning to build capacity and raise the enthusiasm of young coaches, and young referees and also to get players that have made an impact to give back to society. We will also involve state government and corporate bodies including spirited individuals to galvanize the efforts of the board."

The founder of ambitious women's football sides Naija Ratel FC and Honey Badger FC, Barrister Paul Edeh, a humanitarian who has consistently donated footballs and jerseys to grassroot teams recounted his involvement in such projects more in Benue than the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

 "I have done more for football in Benue than FCT, Ratel Preseason Tournament started in Benue, I founded a men's team over a decade ago in Benue and hired an expatriate as the coach. I have repeatedly organized grassroot tourneys with donations of equipment and kits to teams for over a decade. 

"For the past three years, I have funded a state league through Ratel Sports Development Foundation (Ratel Benue State League). Honey Badger is still the only notable female team in Benue today. Benue is my state and I would love to go back and provide selfless leadership to the Football Associations.

"My message to congress members is that I will keep to my promises, like l always do. I am coming to FA not for what I will need, I am coming with a lot of values on the table. I will provide the right leadership and encourage football development at the grassroot, football crises will be crashed down at the local level so that football becomes affordable. I will pursue funding for Benue State FA and works with the current leadership of Nigeria Football Federations to ensure that Benue hosts National Matches, we will improve on the structure on ground and form partnerships. I will make everyone have the trust that the game of football is their own." Barrister Paul Edeh pledged.
