Osun FA Elections: Fanawopo Assures Resuscitation Of Osun Football, Massive Private Sector Sponsorship If Voted As Chairman.

One of the leading candidates in the forthcoming Osun Football Association Elections, Mr. Sola Fanawopo has highlighted some of his plans ahead of the Tuesday elections in Osogbo.

Fanawopo, a Chartered Public Administrator was a special guest on the Family United By Football (FUBF) personality interview session, held on Saturday evening ahead of the elective Congress of the Osun State football body.

The 'Igbajo' born Football Administrator revealed that if elected as the Chairman of the Osun Football Association, he will bring in massive changes, that would in turn bring good fortunes to the state of football in the state.

"Once we have the right marketing tools in place , the right branding in place, we would be able to get the required support, not only for the state league, but all our other programmes. The most important thing is for us to do the basic work, package our programmes very well and make it attractive to investors.

"We are lucky in Osun State, we have alot of top individuals in the Business World, who are waiting for us to put our acts together, so they can come invest in our football.

The Fintech Enthusiast and Media Entrepreneur also noted that grassroots football is going to be key in his drive to change the face of Osun Football.

"Promotion of grassroot football is very imperative, because that would be the bedrock of our success. We are going to re-introduce the Headmasters Cup and it's going to be a permanent feature in our Calendar for each year, same with the Principal's Cup.

"These tournaments are unquestionable and we must do it. This will not only enable us discover talents from the grassroots, it would also give our Local Coaches to be able to get organised and get themselves ready for bigger things ahead, also make the Referees and other stakeholders active.

"It is only when we have this kind of competitions at primary and secondary level that we can begin to attract more people to football, because the idea is that everyone must get involved in football. It would equally help the Local Government Chairmen to remain active and resourceful.
