NPFL: Abia Warriors Held 'Goal Shy' Tornadoes ln llorin

Tornadoes Were Left To Rue Missed Scoring Chances, As Warriors Ran Away With Valuable Away Point:

What began like an easy ride to victory for the home team ended disappointingly for the host.

Tornadoes started the game on a right footing and were evidently on rampage in the early minutes, looking the more hungrier to pick maximum points as Lukman Mohammed, Ahmadu Liman and Destiny Ashadi ceased control of the game from the midfield, Kabiru Adeniji looked to have put the host ahead having benefited from a good ball in, to do a wonderful acrobatic shot, only to be met with the lines man flag up, in what was adjudged to be an offside positioning.

The Ikon Allah Boys continued their assaults towards goal and were rewarded on the 33rd minutes, when Usule Martins' low shot from inside the box off a pass from Lukman Mohammed left goalkeeper Pius Ibrahim planted, as he couldn't help but watched the ball rolled into the net.

There was mixed feelings on the home sides' bench, moments after the goal, as both Lukman Mohammed and Destiny Ashadi were seen limping after sustaining injuries, Destiny was substituted few minutes before half time making way for Shamsudeen Hashim.

On resumption into the second half, Lukman Mohammed couldn't make it out as Abdulkadir Zango returned to the team making his first appearance this season.

Abia Warriors levelled things up on the 54th minute when Hammed Yakub benefited from Godwin Obaje's pass to fire a grounder passed Lucky Abdul Jimoh.

From then onwards, all efforts by the home team to find the lead proved abortive as so many chances created from good passing sequences were wasted for poor decision making just at the final end.

Olukismet FC To Drag Vandrezzer To NFF Over Illegal Signing Of Etiti Solomon

Olukismet FC To Drag Vandrezzer To NFF Over Illegal Signing Of Etiti Solomon

Nationwide League One side, Olukismet  Football Club of Ikere Ekiti is set to drag Vandrezzer to the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) over the illegal signing of Etiti Solomon.

The Lagos based Nigerian National League(NNL) recently announced the capture of the left-winger from Remo Stars on a three-year contract till 2024.

Olukismet via its Secretary, Ogundipe Abiodun Bright has taken a swipe at the management of Vandrezzer, saying they acted unprofessionally in the signing of Etiti Solomon, as the NLO side has information to prove that the pacy attacking winger is a bonafide player of the club.

"I want to use this medium to put the records straight and not to join issues with Vandrezzer regarding the ownership of Etiti.

"We have a valid contract with him and his Nationwide League One (NLO) license is with us. If you must know his Player Number is 9230 while his License Number is 7230.

"Etiti told us he would be spending the NLO off-season break in Minna, Niger State. When the date for the break elapsed, he called that he was cash strapped and needed money to travel back to Ikere Ekiti, the management sent him the sum of Ten Thousand Naira (#10, 000).

"After receiving the money, he never showed up, as he left management worried as he became incommunicado, only for the news of his signing with Vandrezzer to go viral on social media and other sports websites.

" Mind you he also acknowledged the payment of his last monthly salary of #38, 526:88 Kobo after tax.

"After hearing of the news, we contacted Vandrezzer management and they said they would get back to us. As we speak they are yet to as they plan to use Etiti in the Lagos State FA Cup.

"They are aware he is our player and want to be smart about it, little wonder they refused to add our club name on the list of previous clubs Etiti played for as they mentioned Yobo FC, 36 Lions FC and Remo Stars."

Recall Etiti played for Olukismet in the 2020/2021 Nationwide League One Division One Zonal League where the Ikere-Ekiti based club played at the Ilorin centre and grouped alongside Hammola Int'l FC, Knights FC, Seat Of God FC among others.

Barrister Churchill Oliseh Canvasses For More Investments In Grassroots Football

Grassroot Football Investment In Nigeria Is Profitable - Churchill Oliseh

Barrister Churchill Oliseh, President of Nationwide League One (NLO) club, FC Ebedei has advised Nigerians that investment in grassroot football is a profitable venture.

Churchill, the elder brother of former Super Eagles coach and the captain is credited with discovering Nigerian internationals like Obafemi Martins, Paul Onuachu (Genk, Belgium), Frank Onyeka (Brentford, England) among others.

In a lecture, he delivered at the maiden Ekiti State Football Association Merit Awards ceremony at the Adetiloye Banquet Hall in Ado Ekiti, titled The Essence Of Investing In Grassroot Football, Oliseh said, "The gains from investing in football are wide, varying, covert, secret, concealed and rewarding.

"I want to tell everyone present in this hall that since 1994, there is no medal Nigeria has won that you won't see a product of FC Evedei has not been part of it.

"So it's profitable investing in grassroot football and the profits can be immediate or long term based. One who may not necessarily be the owner of the grassroot team can still make from the profits if he or she belongs to the chain that groomed the player.

"The inability to profit from football investment is prima facie evidence of incompetence, ineptitude and flawed policy or model.

"Another common component why many grassroot football clubs don't make gains in their investments is as a result of them not being able to separate their finances from that of the club."

The FC Ebedei boss further advised investors to be ready for the challenges ahead in the football business industry.

"Presidents or owners of these clubs most also prepare for existing present-day terrain and industry drawbacks and challenges as they do for the weather."

"I never expected that it would a wheelchair to help ease my movement and cash to pay for my accommodation as I came from Ilorin to support Remo Stars."

Ogunjobi Gold Cup: Ashadi Talks Tough Vows To Lift The Trophy

Ashadi Vows Rediscover Form, Targets  Title

One of the poster boys of the Nigerian Professional Football League(NPFL) Destiny Ashadi has vowed to rediscover his good form and win the Ogunjobi Gold Cup with Niger Tornadoes.

Ashadi, 26, no doubt is one of the most gifted attacking midfielders in the domestic league, as he is a delight to watch on the pitch owing to his dazzling skills and leadership qualities too.

The CHAN Eagle star who was among the squad that lost 3-2 to Spanish LaLiga heavyweight Atletico Madrid in a friendly at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in 2018, has had a fair share of injury of late, which slowed his game and made him not to hit form at Rivers United last season.

Now with the Ikon Allah Boys, at the Ogunjobi Gold Cup a delightful Ashadi said: "Glad to be with Tornadoes playing and gradually am finding back my form with the matches I have played in this tourney.

"I left Rivers United by mutual consent, not for any other thing, injury slowed me down at Rivers United. When I recovered I was not convinced with the play time I was getting, so I had a private meeting with Coach Stanley Eguma and he agreed that I can get my release papers and go to a team where I would much playing time.

"Am having a splendid time with Tornadoes, the atmosphere at the club is good as we are a family and have mutual respect for one another."

"My partnership with Daniel Edeh in the  midfield has been good as we have a better understanding of ourselves as we speak same dialect, so communication has been the key to our impressive play.

"It's going to be a different ball at the semi-finals as we will approach the game against Remo Stars with the zeal to win. We won't be complacent."

Osun Apex League: Resurgent Akoment Held Hammola Int'l, Os NSCDC Secures First Point, Olansile FC, HMK FC Set To Bounce Back.

Actions resume across six centres as the much publicized maiden edition of Osun Apex League enters week nine.

Os NSCDC ended its pointless streak as Bamikefa Olufemi tutored side rues a die minutes equalizer by their host, Victory Police FC. The security outfit preserved Ahmed's lone strike for the most part of the duel but Victory Police rallied to share the spoils, recall that Victory Police are victorious in the reverse encounter which ended 4-1.

The Civil Defense team who had no point throughout the first stanza of the league now have a point to their credit as they maintain same position on the log.

Olansile FC and H. M. K FC will like to bounce back from their disappointment away from home and seek redemptions. H. M. K FC who tasted defeats for the first time in Okuku  as second round kicks off would bank on their scoring winger Qudus and gangling striker Azeez  while hosting Victory Police FC. Ayedire Utd will have their hands full while engaging Omo Mummy Boys in far away Ileogbo.

The league top scorer Habeeb Olanrewaju who inspired Hammola FC to come back and secured a draw against resurgent Akoment FC will like to sustain his scoring form while playing as a guest to Osun NSCDC.

The likes of Otin Babes, Timi Giants and Fehinty FC are capable of causing upset as they all play away from home this weekend. Despite picking draws in their last games, the ldo Osun based outfits Hammola FC and Fehinty FC are still topping their respective groups.

The top two teams in each group would eventually qualify for Super 4 to determine the actual league winner.

Osun Apex League is packaged and financed by Osun FA under the distinguished sports financier Alhaji Rasaq lshola Mustapha RIM. The Grand Prize of 120, 000 and 100, 000 have been earmarked for the eventual winner and runner’s up. There are countless exciting gifts also for participating teams and individual awards are also in the offing. The second stanza will kick start again by Wednesday, 20th October 2021.

Flying Officers Cup 2022: Lawal, Georgewill, Okah Lead Individual Awards.

Flying Officers Cup 2021 is finally in the books after FC Robo Queens were crowned Champions for the first time, defeating 2019 winners Edo Queens by a lone goal. Some individual footballers did fantastically well and were celebrated at the end of the tournament.

Player Of the Tournament (Taiwo Lawal, FC Robo Queens)

The FC Robo Queens forward was superb all through the tournament and was one of the reasons her team became eventual winners of the 2021 Flying Officers Cup. She was always pushing forward and was a nightmare for every defenders she faced.

The Bar. Seyi Akinwunmi' Award For Highest Goalscorer - Ibinabo Georgewill, Confluence Queens -3 Goals 1 Assist)

Ibinabo Georgewill of Confluence Queens edged out Emem Essien to win the tournament's Golden boot award. Ibinabo scored three goals, same as Emem, but had one assist ahead. Unfortunately, Emem Essien's goal against Confluence Queens in the Semi-finals was taken off board after a video review showed that Confluence Queens defender, Micheal Joy actually headed the ball and not the Edo Queens forward.

Young Player Of The Tournament - (Rukayat Shobowale, FC Robo Queens) -

The young football maestro started all six games as the 'Lagos Landladies' went all the way to lift the coveted title. She was everywhere on the pitch, ensuring that her team never loses focus upfront.

The Bar. Seyi Akinwunmi Award For Best Goalkeeper (Nkiruka Obindinma, Edo Queens)

 - The 2019 NWFL Premiership goalkeeper of the year was voted as the best safe hands at the 2021 Flying Officers Cup. The Former Osun Babes goalie, conceded only one goal in 5 games that she participated in. She made some good saves too, yo help her side get to the final of the competition for the second time.

Fair Play Award (Naija Ratels FC) -

Naija Ratels weren't at their best in the Competition, but the players showed class and discipline all through the competition. The 'Ratels' exhibited exemplary behavior that promoted the spirit of fairplay despite going down against Royal Queens and FC Robo Queens in the competition.

Goal Of The Tournament (Adaobi Okah, Edo Queens Vs Sunshine Queens) -

The best goal of the 2021 Flying Officers Cup was scored by Edo Queens Adaobi Okah of Edo Queens against her former side, Sunshine Queens in the third quarter final encounter of the competition.

Her extraordinary, strike from a far-right acute angle against Sunshine Queens was the cream of the crop.

Most Entertaining Team- (Ghana Police Ladies FC)-

Even though they crashed out in the first round, the Ghanaian team won the hearts of fans with their style and should be credited for producing some fine moments of football. Juanita Aguadze, Jane Ayayiem, Ivy Kolli and others were on top of their game and never let loose guards at all.

The Man On Fire, Shamsudeen Stars As Tornadoes Book Ogunjobi Gold Cup Semi-Final Spot

Shamsudeen Stars As Tornadoes Book   Ogunjobi Gold Cup Semi-Final Spot

Never say die spirit of Shamsudeen Hashim was the inspiration Niger Tornadoes needed as they advanced to the semifinals of the Ogunjobi Gold Cup after they saw off FC Ebedie 3-1 in their Group B game.

The game at the FC Ebedei Stadium was won within 17 minutes of the first half and the experience and work rate of the Ikon Allah Boys played a key role as they bounced off from the defeat to Shooting Stars to secure their second three points in the pre-season tournament.

FC Ebedei took the fight to the NPFL side, and in the 12th minute, they shocked Tornadoes scoring the first goal of the game through Isa Musa.

The lanky striker pounced on a loose ball from Tornadoes sloppy defending to tap into the net for the Oliseh Boys.

In the 16th minute, Wakilu Abudulahi thought he had drawn even for Tornadoes with a half volley from Nojeem Olayinka's cross inside the FC Ebedei box, only for the match official to rule his goal out as off-side.

Four minutes later, Shamsudeen Hashim powered past FC Ebedei's the backline to make it 1-1 with his ferocious low drive shot that found the bottom right corner of Mark Ugboh's goal.

Martins Usule then doubled the lead for Tornadoes 13 minutes later scoring via a clinical assist from Hasim.

FC Ebedei were then punished for not defending well in their box as Ahmadu Liman put the game beyond their reach scoring Tornadoes third goal in the 37th minute.

The second half was more or less as child's play for Tornadoes as they took the 45 minutes to school players of FC Ebedei.

Tornadoes could meet any of MFM FC, Remo Stars or FC Yobo in a semi-final game billed for Thursday at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

FC Ebedei Pitch Is Best And Can Never Get Waterlogged, says Alansmith Boss

Alan Smith Reiterates Why FC Ebedei Pitch Is The Best In Nigeria

FC Ebedei Pitch Is Best And Can Never Get Waterlogged, says Alansmith Boss

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FIFA and CAF certified synthetic pitch installation firm, Alansmith Nigeria Limited, Joshua Adamu has revealed that French drain system he installed at the FC Ebedei Stadium in Sagamu can not make it waterlogged when matches are played in the rain.

It rained during the high profile Ogunjobi Gold Cup pre-season tourney game between 3SC and Tornadoes and the pitch was not waterlogged.

Waterlogged pitches are a common site in many of our stadia, thereby forcing the match officials and organizers of competitions to reschedule such matches.

Alansmith's job quality at the FC Ebedei Stadium have left coaches, players of teams competing in the preseason marveled.

Adamu in a chat with Ogunjobi Gold Cup Media said, "Waterlogging of pitches is a subject of drainage and I have always been an advocate for quality and a good base. What is under the pitch is as important as what is on top. For FC Ebedei Stadium we have a French drain under the turf to ensure good drainage and allow the player to still have a flat playing surface.

"The FC Ebedei pitch is a FIFA 2-star rated pitch with shock pads and 60mm grass carefully and professionally laid. So it's a case of professionalism and quality.

"The quality of materials speak volumes and our team of professionals maintain standards. Like you will notice we are key to delivering world-class service more than publicity. So our good works will speak for us.

"Life span is a subject of use and maintenance, but we go with the  international practice where we give seven to 10 years warranty.

"Alansmith is major player in sports construction so from stadium seats to all sporting surfaces, acrylic, PP Floors and various synthetic grasses for different sports from soccer, hockey basketball, tennis and all sports generally from concept to drawing and construction."

Asked how the competition has been for his brand with others in the synthetic pitch business.

"For us at Alansmith Nigeria we believe that the sky is big enough for all to fly, we just concentrate on delivering quality and timely service to our client with out breaking the bank and not compromising on international accepted standard."

Osun Utd Will Get Better With Games - Remo Stars Gaffer Ogunbote

Osun Utd Not A Bad Team And Can Get Better - Ogunbote

Gbenga Ogunbote has insisted that Osun United were no pushovers despite them losing scandalously 4-0 to Remo Stars at the ongoing Ogunjobi Gold Cup in Ikenne.

The rescheduled Group A match, saw Noah Ojuola scoring the Sky Blue Stars first while Ojukwu Ifeogwu shot a hat trick past a helpless Omoluabi Giants goalkeeper.

"It's still a pre-season and it is too early to dance. What we are trying to do is to put the team to shape, and get to know the strength and weaknesses of the squad," said Ogunbote in his post-match reaction.

"Osun United are not a poor side as the scoreline did not reflect their game, ordinarily, we were wasteful as we should have scored close to eight goals but they defended well too.

"Mind you there were also no pushovers,

going forward I think if they can put their passes together and work as a team, they will make something out of it.

"Thumbs up to the organizers of the 9th edition of the Ogunjobi Gold Cup, the pre-season tournament has helped us. We have seen a few areas where we ought not to have allowed.

"Nonetheless, the objective of every coach is to ensure that he has a compact team that can compete in the league, so Remo Stars will approach the games in the tourney with a winning mindset."

Remo Stars renew their rivalry with MFM FC in a bid to claim the bragging rights of the Southwest derby today (Sunday) at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

The country's first pre-Season tournament is sponsored by Optima Energy, and its proudly supported by Alansmith Nigeria Limited, Taiwo Joseph Ogunjobi Foundation, Nigeria leading sportswear firms, Owu, Haggai Sportswear, Afripro, Naija League Magazine, Matchroom, Sports, 11th Media Global Concept, Freestyle Sports, Renewed Hope, Kao Concept, Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation, Dejavu Communication, Olansile Football Academy, TSI Football Academy and ITS Football Management.

Nigeria Professional Football League giants Rangers have completed the signing of experienced goalkeeper Adeniyi Bamidele from MFM FC.

Bamidele penned a two-year deal with the club after successful negotiations.

The 29-year-old spent last season at MFM where he made 19 appearances and kept seven cleansheets.

He is expected to compete with Nana Bonsu, Femi Thomas and Mutawakilu Seidu for the number one shirt at Rangers.

Beyond Limits FC Pushed Tornadoes To Its Limits - Bala

Beyond Limits FC Pushed Tornadoes To Its Limits - Bala

Abubakar Bala has acknowledged that Beyond Limits are a good team as it was a tough duel against the rookies who gave his stars a good game.

Tornadoes recorded their first 3points in the Ogunjobi Gold Cup pre-season tournament courtesy of two second-half goals from the strike duo of Igbudu Alpha and Usule Martins at the FC Ebedei Stadium in Sagamu.

"I never expected that these young lads would be as enterprising as they were today, they matched my team as they were technical and physically good," Bala said.

"I must be sincere, during the game, I asked myself this question, do we still have this kind of football talent in Nigeria.

"After that, my thought was what some coaches present as products of our youth national teams is a sharp contrast to the talents I have seen here.

"However, Beyond Limits might have pushed us to our limits as it took us team 52 minutes to score our first goal, that does not take away anything from my players as their experience and coordination in the game got the three points.

"We hope to build on the win as the target is not just to win the Ogunjobi Gold Cup but to have a formidable team that can compete well in the NPFL when the season kicks off.

"After the NNL Play-off, we went on a short break during which we took the time to assemble a few quality players. So we are using the Ogunjobi Gold Cup to put the squad to shape on the task ahead in the NPFL."

Tornadoes will on Saturday go head-to-head with Shooting Stars in one of the high profile games of the prestigious pre-season tourney in Nigeria.

The country's first pre-Season tournament is sponsored by Optima Energy, and its proudly supported by Alansmith Nigeria Limited, Taiwo Joseph Ogunjobi Foundation, Nigeria leading sportswear firms, Owu, Haggai Sportswear, Afripro, Naija League Magazine, Matchroom, Sports, 11th Media Global Concept, Freestyle Sports, Renewed Hope, Kao Concept, Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation, Dejavu Communication, Olansile Football Academy, TSI Football Academy and ITS Football Management.
