I Am Ready For Super Eagles Challenge - Babajide





Omonia Nicosia winger Babajide David, has expressed his readiness to challenge for a place in the Super Eagles under Manager Gernot Rhor.


Babajide who is on loan at the biggest club in Cyprus Omonia Nicosia from Danish giant Midtjylland, believes he has the qualities required to demand a shirt in the Super Eagles.


Speaking during a virtual interview session on one of *Nigeria's finest Whatsapp Group, Family United by Football (FUBF),* the fast winger who modeled his game around Portugese star Christiano Ronaldo insists that he is good enough and has alot to offer the Franco-German tutored side.


"I really think I will fit in perfectly to the style of play of the Super Eagles under Gernot Rhor," he told *FUBF.* 


"I am very fast and know how to use the ball very well. I am very confident and know I have alot to offer the team. 


He continued: "It would be an honour to wear the great white green and help my nation achieve a lot through the round leather game. I am really looking forward to it," he concluded.


Babajide David is a product of Rehoboth FC of Oyo, before joining FC Ebedei where he got a deal with Danish Giant Midtjylland in 2013.

David was loaned out to Norwegian First Division-side FK Jerv on 11 March, 2017 for the rest of the season. On 16 February 2018, he was loaned out again, this time to FK Haugesund.

In February 2019, David was once again sent out on loan, this time to Rosenborg with the option to make the move permanent after the 2019 season.

In January 2020, David signed 6-month loan contract with Omonia Nicosia of Cyprus and played a key role in the team winning the Cypriot championship following the cancelation of the league due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ojaja ll Football Academy, Akinola Martins, has informed that the academy when launched  will see talented kids realise their big dream in education and professional football.



Through the initiative of His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, to help kids develop a lifelong love for education and the game, not only creating talented players who can dazzles on the world scene but helping to nurture positive citizens who can do things with creative minds. These are the aims of establishing Ojaja II Football Academy.



While responding to questions posed by journalists on the foremost juicy Soccer Platform, Family United By Football (FUBF), Martins exposed the way the academy would function.


"l can assure you that the academy is not audio academy, this is something from His lmperial Majesty, you are all aware that His Majesty is a talk and do king.


"We are not just targeting putting these players in an academy here, where they play football and at the end of the day they have to go and face life, we want them to take football as a profession at the same time impart knowledge in them through formal education.


"We are looking at opportunity around the world to take these kids out there, if they were being selected at the world stage (Gothia Cup) in Sweden, then we have to come to the table and discuss with teams over there the importance of education of these kids," he told FUBF.


Akinola, who's the General Coordinator Ojaja Principal Cup further reiterated that talented kids scouted from the annual prestigious 'Ojaja Cup' would form the academy students which would be given chances of showcasing their talents to the world through football and education.


"The Football Academy is working in partnership with international football clubs where they can have subsidiary through Ojaja Football Academy, we would be their face in Nigeria and supply inputs into their clubs, due to the Covid 19 ravaging the world, our plans are on hold but immediately after the pandemic, the ball will be set rolling," he concluded.


Recall that the World and Africa Football Summit have recognized the tourney 'Ojaja Cup' aimed at developing talented kids for the future.

High-Tech Equipments Defining Players Exposure ln Football- Ogunmodede




The Head Coach Nigeria National League, NNL outfit, Remo Stars FC Daniel Ogunmodede has underscored the necessity for high-tech sports equipments in players development.



The merchant tactician who is a graduate of Ladoke Akintola University and a holder of CAF C license believes that technology has invaded the world and and by extension it has also entered the sporting arena in a big way.



While reacting to questions from Journalists on Soccer Platform Family United By Football (FUBF), Ijaball as he's fondly called noted that, with functional equipments, players would be fortified and become top competitors.



"Part of challenges facing our players today is exposure, how much access do they have to technological equipments that can improve their performances?

"Our players are good in this country but what affect most of them is inferiority complex because they were not exposed adequately, reason why some of them fail to compete in abroad.


"That's why we are correcting those lapses in Remo Stars, if an eighteen year old player cannot compete and play in the top league, then when would such a player be given chance to play?" Ogunmodede queried.

The Chief Operating Officer Nationwide League One, Olushola Ogunnowo, says the NLO football market in South America and Asia is now worth $500m.

Lack Of Facilities, Bane Of Grassroot Football Development In Nigeria- Sulaiman Olansile






The Proprietor  of Nigeria's leading Football Academy, Olasinle Football Academy, has identified lack of facilities as the main challenges facing the development of grassroot football in Nigeria.


Olasinle Suleiman who was born and raised in Ikirun, Osun state, spoke during an interview session on a popular Nigerian Whatsapp Sports Group, Family United by Football (FUBF) stating the obvious that things needs to change if the country wants to get it right through Grassroot football.


The United State of America based astute football administrator noted that until adequate attention is given to the development of football facilities, the game will continue to decline at the grassroot level.


"I think we have a long way to go in the area of facilities in most part of Africa. Nigeria with a lot of football talents is lagging behind because kids lack the common football facilities to become greater than they can ever imagine," the former NRT of Nepal defender told FUBF.


"Poor training facilities, lack of transportation and many others are hindering performance of grassroots footballers. The government and the football federation needs to help in this aspect by channelling funds towards the availability of facilities. We have a long way to go."


Olansile who sponsors one of the biggest Grassroot football competition in the whole of Southwest Nigeria (Olansile Cup) and also owns one of the best football academies in the country, spoke about his plans and more.


"We are working on a lot of projects presently and very soon we shall start executing them. We are also working so hard to make sure our academy reach the standard we have here in the U.S.


"Having our own camping site, a standard Matchday pitch and training pitch is top of the agenda, we have started work on it, unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic came knocking, so we had to stop work on it. We won't rest until we make Olasinle Football Academy one of the best in the whole wide world," he concluded.

Akeem Latifu Leaves Door Open For Super Eagles Return

Former youth international and MjĂžndalen FC of Norway defender Akeem Latifu is hoping to see a Super Eagles long hiatus end at some point.


Latifu who hails from the state of Osun hasn't played for the Super Eagles since 2015 when he was brought on against Uganda in Uyo under Stephen Keshi in a friendly match which East Africans secured a lone-goal win over the star-studded Nigeria side.



Latifu who starred for ten different clubsides in four countries since leaving Akwa Utd in 2010 revealed that, if such chance should come again, it would be embraced whole heartedly.



"When l started playing football, l was just playing it for fun then, when I even came to Europe, my main goal was to make name for myself and my family which l was grateful it happened.



"The Super Eagles was something that every football player wants to play for the country but everyone is not going to have like 100 games like Vincent Enyeama.



"l think am grateful for the short time I had in the Super Eagles and l thank God that l made good use of the opportunity given to me, I think no regrets about it and if it happens again, why not?, until then, am concentrating on my club career." Latifu who began his career with Bussdor FC also spent time with Ocean Boys FC before joining Akwa Utd told Family United By Football, FUBF.




Latifu was part of the Nigeria national under-20 football team at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada hailed the former Secretary General of the then Nigeria Football Association, late Chief Taiwo Joseph Ogunjobi for the rare opportunity extended to him.



"My team, Bussdor had a friendly game in Ibadan and I remember some NFA officials were on ground, It was Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi who noticed my versatility and ordered me to join the Flying Eagles.



"I proved my worth in goal project and I was lucky to be in Canada, it was a fantastic memory for me. It was a big thing for me signing my first contract in Norway and I will forever be grateful to great football icon late chief Taiwo Ogunjobi whose efforts shot me into limelight." He concluded.

The head coach of Katsina United Henry Makinwa a UEFA Pro License holder habours realistic dreams of managing a national team and subsequently coaching a football club in Europe.



The vastly exposed Obafemi Awolowo University lle-lfe graduate merchant tactician represented 17 clubs in 11 countries during his professional career.



Known in Portugal as Maki, Makinwa started his coaching career in Nigeria with Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club of Ilorin, in 2016 and used his tactical masterpiece to promote the side to Nigeria Professional Football League after just a season in Nigeria National League.



"Actually, I came to the country with the primary objective to become a national team coach, l have the ambition of managing football in Europe and before you can be accepted in European market, you have to do something nice with the national team.



"Where can I have this option is to come back home, some of my friends and teammates branded and tongue lashed me crazy for leaving the comfort of Europe but I knew what I wanted to do.



"l know if I come to local league, football administrators would see what I can do and might just give me the opportunity to manage the national team," he told Family United By Football (FUBF) the foremost Soccer Platform.




Makinwa who joined Abia Warriors two days before the start of the 2018/2019 NPFL season later moved to another premier league side Katsina United at the beginning of the current campaign and ensured that 'Changi Boys' have broken the jinx of losing away games having amassed 7 points away from home this season.



"I have the biggest license in football and I played top European clubs for 15 years, l equally played for national team so what do I need to have? This is my third year in the elite division, l think l have a reason to be given a chance.



"Actually, l have the target of possibly bagging the plumb job of U-23 or U-20, that's where the world will look at you and that's where the football is and l hope when it is time, the opportunity will come since they know my standard and what I can offer," Makinwa who moved to Rayo Vallecano in Spain at the age of 19 last played for Concord FC in Nigeria concluded.

Plateau United prolific centre forward, Tosin Abraham Omoyele, is eyeing a move to Europe since that puts him on a bigger stage to showcase his talent.

With 57 career goals, it is reported that Omoyele's switch to Enyimba FC is imminent but the move has since been muted by the former league champion, Plateau United. Omoyele who is into final phase of his contract with Plateau Utd desperately needs a move away at the end of the season.



"My next move would be crucial, I can't say where I am going at the moment but before the end of the season, my agent would determine that, indeed I need to move ahead," Omoyele who picks Akila Jesse as his favourite player in Plateau United told FUBF.

Former Nigeria International, Duke Udi has informed that, football runs in the veins of his family and his emergence was just once in a blue moon, he revealed that football finally made him to live his dreams.


While featuring on Family United By Football Personality Interview, Duke who started his career with Concord FC in 1993 and was part of the victorious  league winning squad of Shooting Stars F.C. in 1995 said that, hardwork, dedication and discipline should be the watchword of any serious footballer.


"My family is a football family, I used to follow three of my elder brothers to training, my brother was the captain of NPA of Warri and I do follow him keenly as a kid. My parents also love football and they supported our career.


"When I was active, indiscipline affected me from reaching the ultimate goal. As a talented player, l believed that, something good would come easy. Discipline is the keyword, I do tell my players that talent will come and go but with discipline they will get to the top and dazzle," Duke who earned his coaching license in USA and worked with defunct Giwa F.C. in 2014 told FUBF.


Udi who joined Rangers Int'l as an assistant coach to Imama Amapakabo later joined Osun United in 2017 as Head Coach and produced one of the best team the Omoluabi Giants ever had berates most of the Football Administrators for cooping up gaffers in a way to dishonor and discredit their works.


"Nigeria employers will give you a job and still tell you how the work will be done, l don't take no for answer, l played the game in Nigeria and abroad and I know the setting. I don't compromise the standard for nothing.


"Walking away doesn't mean I don't know how to compromise but no, I won't do it. Football is a reality that makes people happy, in our clime, hypocrisy is the order of the day. They bring players who cannot even kick the ball for you to sign, for me I can't take it because it's always  'merit over origin'.



"I played and worked under merit driven coaches and when you start telling me ABC when it's not, then I will pack my bag and go. This is a job for professionals, talking football is different from playing football. If you are telling me this is what you want and I know it's not normal, I will just walk away," the merchant tactician who featured for Grasshopper FC of Switzerland in the 1995–96 UEFA Champions League noted.


Duke who worked as assistant to John Obuh in Akwa Utd, eulogized the lifestyles of late Chief Taiwo Joseph Ogunjobi and Elder Paul Bassey. He described both men as exemplary leaders with integrity and highly professional.

Chairman Ekiti State Football Association, Bayo Olanlege, has reinstated his commitment to further advance the course of football developments in Ekiti state with digital solutions which would be embraced by all and sundry.



Olanlege who is the CEO of Fountain Youths Sports Club now Phoenix Athletics Sports Club, a community development project that uses sports for the development of gifted youths in Ekiti State from 2008 till date revealed to Family United By Football FUBF how he intends to further put Ekiti Football on a global map.



"As a born administrator, I have initiated so many tournaments, because I didn't enjoy football playing football due to my height as a kid.


"I was so good at keeping records and that has shaped my destiny and it really help my calling till today.


"We are doing our best for underage programs, I love to see kids play that's why we are establishing cadet teams in the state like Ekiti Bees being the products of our grassroot tournaments hosted by the Football Association," Olanlege who was the Secretary, Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Ekiti Chapter 2008 through 2015 told FUBF.




Boyomay as he's fondly called by his admirers was the initiator and state coordinator of Nigeria Football Supporters Club U-13 Primary School Football Competition 2008-2011.




The initiator of ALGON CUP Football Competition in Ekiti State further disclosed that the state will work more and deploy digital means of identifying talents and exposing the unearth materials to the world.



"We will keep on organizing tournaments and I want to appreciate Hon. Kunle Soname for believing and supporting what we are doing in Ekiti.


"Hopefully, all our major tourneys would start hitting the air waves via live streaming from Semi Finals because by this, we would offer our domain to the world."



Since he came on board in May 2019, Olanlege and his board have rejigged Ekiti Football with commendable reforms that culminated into attracting sponsors and the establishment of Ekiti Bees (State FA U-16) team. Akwegbu warns young players against career wrecking acts

Former Super Eagles striker Benedict Akwuegbu has fired warnings to Nigeria's football prospects aiming to excel in the industry against all sort of immorality that can truncate their careers.



Akwuegbu who started his career at the age of 15 in Nigeria before moving to French side RC Lens at the age of 17, revealed via Personality Interview on Let's Gist Naija, the ever blazing Sports WhatsApp Platform.



"I left the shores of the country at a tender age. I had a wonderful experience in Europe as a young player.



"What I will advise the young players is that, they should be disciplined and work extra hard. The players should be ready to raise their games above other players they are competing with." Benedict who spent five years in Belgium with KRC Harelbeke, KSV Waregem, KVK, Tienen told LGN. 



Akwegbu signed for Austrian side Grazer AK in 1998 season, as he went on to win the Austrian Cup and Austrian Supercup in 2000 and 2002 and the league title in 2004 with his good performance further stated thus; 



"The young players should stay focussed and shun the act of smoking and humanizing. They must work hard and loyal to the coach. Even if the coach didn't let them play, they should work harder because the time will come when the coach will give them the awaiting playing time, they should just take their chances and utilize the opportunity very well. 




"I did not really play the way I wanted to play for the Super Eagles, the way I played in Austria I wanted to bring that to the Super Eagles also. 



"But I didn't bring it to the Super Eagles because during my era we have a lot of world class players, I still thank God that I was able to play the Nations cup, World Cup, score goals in qualifying games." The 'Austria Bomber' who played his first international game for the Super Eagles of Nigeria against Tunisia, scored 8 goals in 30 appearances for the Super Eagles of Nigeria from 2000 to 2005 concluded.

Ekene Berates NFF Over NNL Indefinite Suspension, Calls For Fresh Start

The Chief Executive Officer of Kaduna based Nigeria National League side Kada City, Ekene Abubakar Adams, has fingered the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF for putting up a catastrophic system that fathom the ills that greeted 2019/2020 abandoned NNL season.


Youngest as the astute football administrator is fondly called by his admirers spoke vehemently while featuring on Family United By Football FUBF Personality Interview.


Recall that the Chidi Ofor led National League board suspended the season on December 22, 2019 and later declared the league suspended indefinitely in January 2020, Ekene reacted thus, "You don't appoint incompetent board and expect smooth running of the league.


"There were interests and secret declarations of the league winner even before the commencement of the league. Yes, I have the evidence, that's  part of reasons I decided to withdraw from the league. The atmosphere is toxic and I can't keep investing where the returns on investment is zero."


Ekene who worked with Mighty Jets as Team Manager, from where he joined FC Abuja as Team Manager, also had a stint with Kano Pillars and later joined Remo Stars as the General Coordinator and today he's the owner of Kada City FC seeks a fresh start of the Nigeria National League season, and further demanded urgent subventions to clubs from Nigeria Football Federations.


"We secured a 3-year sponsorship package from ValueJet Airline and it's a nice deal for us at Kada City. The deal would ensure that the club returns to Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL.


"The current leadership of the NFF are not being fair to private investors, some of us even refuse to speak up amidst fear of killing our clubs. I call on the Pinnick led board to kindly look towards private clubs and support us from the fund received from the world football governing body, FIFA.



"I believe we don't have the wherewithal to continue the league. The novel virus is on the rise in the country and we don't have what it is to control the situations, a fresh season will benefit all parties. Someone interest shouldn't superceed the health of the common man.


"We lack necessary tools to confront dangers when it arrives, imagine common ambulance we couldn't provide in Lafia, Nasarrawa State that led to death of a player, how much more the issue of COVID-19.  l advise the season be suspended and start afresh." Ekene, who had time with Sitra FC of Bahrain as a player from where he joined Sudan league side, Al-Huwal FC before he called it quit concluded.

Sunshine Stars Fatokun Reveals Secret Of His Consistency

The Sunshine Stars International Football Club, box to box midfielder Jide Fatokun has insisted that, consistent 'hard work' made him to be a force to reckon with in Sunshine Stars.



Born and raised in Ede, the midfield trojan started his football career at a tender age with Red Bombers FC Ede, from where he joined defunct Gray's Int'l FC in 2013 and after 4 years he was picked by Duke Udi for Osun United in 2017.




Fatokun, one of the most rated midfielders in the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL this season having played every minutes of the 19 games of the 2019/2020 NPFL season first round revealed to Family United By Football that, the experience garnered from lower leagues really helped him while playing in the elite division.



"I had a supportive parents growing up, their contributions was so huge to my career.



"The encouragements I received from my grassroots coaches and my trainers are so tremendous, coach Oyedunmola and Lama really model me and Duke Udi finished it up," the cool headed player who loves to venture into business after quitting football informed FUBF.



Fatokun one of the most sought after reliable midfielder in the country is the second player from Ede town to feature in Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL further disclosed that, consistent hard work is his watchword moving forward.



"I do not like to be dropped in any game situations that's why I work hard to secure my place in the team. I love to play and rest very well after each game in order to be ready for next match.



"I have the ambition of playing every minutes and l love to play every match. I love to keep my shirt in the team and am not ready to lose it to anyone at the moment," Fatokun informed.



Before the ravaging Covid-19 pandemic forced the season to stand still, Fatokun only missed a trip to FC Ifeanyi Ubah in the ongoing season due to accumulation of yellow cards. According to him, his contract with Owenna Whales expires at the end of the current campaign.

The multilingual tactician who played actively for couples of clubsides in Nigeria like Prime FC now Osun United and Stationaries Stores before jetting out to Oman where he spent time with Bowsher FC finally settled in Japan where he called time with Jet Waseda United, Tokyo, stated that, he has a lot to offer if given the opportunity.



In a chat with Family United By Football, Kobayashi noted thus; " l have been nursing the ambition of coaching in Nigeria right from my playing days.



"I used to be thrilled watching the likes of Westernhof and coach Fanny Amun doing the job at the touchline.



"I told myself that, one day, I will get my license and work as a coach." Obalola, a UEFA B certified coach who holds a Japanese Coaching certificate told FUBF. 



Kobayashi, the Director of Misa Soccer Academy, Tokyo Japan is the present Head Coach of Zion Football Club in the Japanese League is of the opinion that  lack of proper players data hinders the players developments in Nigeria.



"In Japan, there are records of cadet players right from U-8, U-9, U-10 and so on. The matches played by these lads are even on tapes which one can fall back on for reference.



"Nigeria grassroots football must be rejigged and thorough developments must take place for our players to have a longer career. Most of Nigerian players coming down to Japan lack basics and it's difficult for them to have the cutting edge here because football structure here.



"I am still under contract here but one day, if any opportunity of such comes my way, I won't hesitate to grab it because l still feel l have a lot of basics to inject into our football system." Kobayashi, a graduate of Human Kinetic and Health Education from the University of Nigeria concluded.

"Rafael Everton has been doing a fantastic job since the time he arrived, those people watching out style of play know that, we are playing with flair and the positive attitudes of our lads are very commendable." Alh. Olayinka who was  the Secretary of Dolphins FC from 2001 through 2008 told FUBF.



The Lagos born administrator who was made the General Manager of Iwuanyanwu Nationale now Heartland FC of Owerri from1999 through 2001 further disclosed that a lot of equipments have been purchased to further help maintained the innovations and sporting standard in the state.



"We are turning the club into a model side, some equipments have been shipped in to further help our course. Our players too have seen great prospects with us and are very determined to stay despite the contentious assumptions making waves in the media.



"The owner of the club is striving hard to ensure that stakeholders, fans and players has something to fall back on when the football finally returns." Olayinka who was with Almar FC as the General Coordinator before he was named the Team Manager of Vandrezzer FC in 2019 concluded.
