What a way to mark the independence day for Delta Force in week 31of Bet9ja Nigeria National League, NNL, as each goal in each half secured the maximum three (3) points for Okowa Boys this evening at Jay Jay Okocha township Stadium Ogwasi-Uku, Delta State.



The host could not unsettle Osun United in the early minutes of the contest, after making series of statement of intents, owing to the spirited performance of the defensive set up being marshalled by vivacious stand in captain , Olusola Akilapa.



Yomi Olaoke surged forward in thirteenth minutes and would have caused serious damage as he squares in to Ufuoma Ajamikoko who failed to tap in easily from close range.



A stellar performance from Osun United wonder goalie Nurudeen Lateef (Kerosene) ensured a goalless duel as he saved couples of goal bound attempts including a penalty inside forty (40) minutes of play.



However, Delta Force forward, Ufuoma Ajamikoko drew the first blood in forty two (42) minute, as he latched on to a well tailored cross delivered by Yomi Olaoke and curled in from 8-yard to beat helpless Lateef Nurudeen in goal for Osun United.



Osun United responded immediately through Adeyemi Adeyeye but Salami Kelvin denied him from point blank to end the first stanza with a goal advantage.



Believe and Achieve Gladiators could have levelled the scores, deep into the second half when Chinedu Emmanuel  directed his effort outwards with a man to beat after a nice foot work and pacy move orchestrated by Jide Fatokun.



In seventy two (72) minutes of the contest, Okowa Boys went into act of terrorizing Omoluabi Giants again in the final third and a glorious chance finally fell to unmarked Yomi Olaoke who had to calm his nerves as he increased the tally to two (2) with a stunning effort after missing a penalty earlier in the game.



Mamud Akorede, Alaji Rasaq and Sunday Afolabi created less spark as Coach Bayo Adesina reshuffled his packs, Aleem Adebayo and Victor Okeji were booked for unsportsmanlike conducts as Delta Force claimed the maximum points on home turf.



Crown FC of Ogbomoso shall knock on the door of Osun United later in the week at the Osogbo Township Stadium in Week 32 of Bet9ja Nigeria National League.

ABS promotes another NPFL U-15 Promises star to main team

Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC U-15 left back, Oyelade Mubarak, has expressed his happiness to join the main team of the club, codedreporter.blogspot.com.ng gathers.

The Coach of the team, Henry Makinwa, after watching the young lad in training has decided to promote him to the main team.

The young defender was part of the victorious team that won the maiden LALIGA/NPFL U-15 Promises organised by the League Management Company (LMC), among the 20 NPFL clubs recently.

"I'm very happy with this great opportunity given to me and I promise to give my best to the club that gave me the courage to showcase my talent.

"I thank Coach Makinwa who deem it feet to consider me and also my coaches at the U-15 level, for their encouragement from the beginning" Oyelade said.

Speaking on the development, the club's Director of Football, Alloy Chukwuemeka, said it is part of the club's policy to go the grassroots, looking for talents and nurture them to stardom.

He however thanked the Proprietor and the Chairman of the club, the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and chairman, Mr. Seni Saraki for their support to the club.

He reiterated management's determination to return the club back to the NPFL after the team's relegation to National League at the just concluded 2016/17 season.

Gernot Rohr hits Abuja, to intensify preparations against Zambia

Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr arrived in Abuja on Thursday to begin preparation for the October 7 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zambia, codedreporter.blogspot.com.ng gathers.

The Franco-German tactician, who returned to the country with the WAFU Cup team earlier in the week, had been in Lagos  and on Thursday moved to Abuja.

According to Completesportsnigeria, some of the Nigeria players  will be in Abuja throughout this weekend where Rohr would also meet with officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) before he travels to Uyo on Monday where he will lead Nigeria against Zambia.

The Super Eagles camp will open in Uyo on Monday for the crucial home game.

“Coach Gernot Rohr travelled to Abuja today (Thursday) to continue his preparation for the Zambia match in Uyo,” the very reliable source close to the coach revealed.

“He will spend this weekend in Abuja where he will also meet with some of the officials of the NFF . He will travel to Uyo on Monday for the match.‎”

AGA; NFF picks date, venue

The Congress of Nigerian Football has approved that the 2017 Annual General Assembly of Nigeria Football Federation take place in Jos, Plateau State on Thursday, 19 October, the NFF announced on Wednesday.

The NFF said in a press release that they informed Youth and Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, as well as FIFA and the Confederation of African Football of the schedule, which comes well after the 7 October FIFA World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria and Zambia and the conclusion of the ongoing AITEO Cup competition and the Nigeria National League.

The Annual General Assembly of Nigeria Football Federation brings together the major stakeholders of the game in Nigeria, with opportunity for engagement on all issues related to the game.

Chairmen and Secretaries of the 44 members of the NFF (including FAs of 36 States and the FCT, the NPFL, the NNL, the NWFL, the NLO, Coaches Association, Referees Association and the Players’ Union), all Members of the Nigeria Football Federation Executive Committee, NFF Management, representatives of Nigeria Football Federation partners and sponsors, former Nigeria Football Federation Presidents and General Secretaries and invited dignitaries are expected at the occasion.

AITEO Cup: Abia Angels OUT of semis, Confluence Queens lN

The Organizing Committee of the 2017 AITEO Cup on Thursday threw out Abia Angels of Umuahia from the competition after careful consideration of a protest lodged by Confluence Queens of Lokoja on player eligibility, coded



Head of AITEO Cup Competition, Emmanuel Adesanya, who conveyed the decision tothenff.com, said the Umuahia –based Club has forfeited their slot in the semi finals, which will now be taken by Confluence Queens.



The Angels defeated the Queens 1-0 in their quarter –final, first leg in Umuahia and both teams fought out a 2-2 draw in the return leg in Lokoja.



The disqualification means Confluence Queens will now proceed to Uyo to play Ibom Angels in the semi final, first leg on Saturday, before hosting the Ibom girls in Lokoja next Wednesday.
