Hajj 2026: Dr. Abdulazeez Charges Oyo Pilgrims On Protocols Ahead Of Journey To Mina, Muzdalifah
Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Islamic Affairs, Dr. Abdulrasheed Abdulazeez, has charged pilgrims from Oyo State participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise to travel light as they prepare to move to Mina and Muzdalifah for the commencement of the major Hajj rites.
Dr. Abdulazeez gave the advice on Saturday, 23rd May 2026 while addressing Oyo State pilgrims at the Madinah Al Zahra Mosque in Mecca ahead of their departure to Mina on Sunday, May 24. He emphasized the need for both physical and spiritual readiness, noting that the five-day Hajj rites require endurance, patience, and total submission to the dictates of Allah.
"I want to urge all our people here to strictly adhere to the laid down protocols guiding activities in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. We should understand that obedience to the rules and directives of Hajj officials would guarantee a smooth and hitch-free exercise for all participants. Let us comply with Saudi authorities and officials supervising the pilgrimage throughout the period of our stay in Mina until we finish the exercise. I also advise you to carry only few but useful items that would ease your movement and ensure comfort during the spiritually demanding exercise", stated Imam Abdulazeez
The Governor's aide further canvassed tolerance, unity, and mutual support among the pilgrims during the rigorous spiritual exercise. He encouraged them to assist one another whenever necessary and avoid acts capable of creating tension or misunderstanding within the camp, noting that cooperation and discipline would contribute greatly to the success of the pilgrimage.
Dr. Aldulazeez also prayed for the safety and acceptance of the pilgrims’ acts of worship, urging them to remain good ambassadors of Oyo State and Nigeria while in the holy land. The pilgrims are expected to join millions of Muslims across the world in observing the symbolic rites in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah as part of the annual Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
