Aiteo Cup: Yusuf stars as Osun Utd nailed Coal City boys



The aspiring Coal City Youths Football Club of Enugu were dumped out of this year's edition of Aiteo Cup courtesy of Aderemi Yusuf's first half brace for Osun United Football Club on Wednesday evening, codedreporter.blogspot.com.ng gathers.

The highly interesting encounter, which brought out the best out of the two teams with Osun United playing with more confidence and created most chances.

A quality performance inspired the Omoluabi Giants to progressed to the round of 32 of the Aiteo Cup with Yusuf Aderemi, netting a brace.

In the all-important Cup tie, Osun United got the opening goal after twelve (12) minutes with Obasi Chigozie, setting up Aderemi to nod the ball into the net.

In the 31st minute, Emeka Ogbu, clear cut chance to draw level for his side was dealt with by Ayo Ojo, in goal for Osun United.

It was a performance that was characterized by grit and defiance, as Coal City were unable to withstand the firepower of the National League side who dominated proceedings with coordinated passes and moves from Hakeem Olalere, Tosin Omoyele, Chinedu Emmanuel, and Aleem Adebayo.

Osun United got the job done in the 44th minute when Aderemi taps into the net a set piece from Obasi. 

Coal City came stronger in the second half and played with maturity, dominating possession with Ndu Ebukako, Ogbu, Christian Omeje, and Torty Okorie, fireworks to get a goal was curtailed by United defence line marshaled by Olusola Akilapa and Kehinde Adeyemi.
