Family affair as siblings officiate El-Kanemi vs FC IfeanyiUbah match

It was indeed a family affair yesterday when two brothers and a sister officiated the NPFL week 34 fixture between El-Kanemi Warriors and FC IfeanyiUbah in Maiduguri, codedreporter.blogspot.com.ng gathers.

The siblings, Stephen Terfa, Ephraim Shagba and their sister, FIFA badged referee Mimisen Iyorhe were in charge of the match that ended 2-0 in favour of the home side.

The Benue referees have been raised by their mother, Mrs. Grace Iyorhe a retired referee and former chairman of the Benue State Referees Council.

An elated Mimisen took to Facebook immediately after the match in Maiduguri to pour encomiums on their mother for nurturing them and ensuring they achieved their dreams in football refereeing.

She wrote “Today I write this piece in honour of my mum, Mrs Grace Nguyemen Iyorhe, Nee Asuwe.

Today your dream in refereeing came to pass in Maiduguri, where your first child, Stephen Terfa Iyorhe watched the technical area and your fourth, now third child, Mimisen Iyorhe assisted your last child, Ephraim Shagba Iyorhe to successfully handle the game between El Kanemi Warriors FC, Maiduguri and FC Ifeanyi Uba, Nnewi.

“Only God knows what you passed through to nurture us to this stage and only He will bless you and make His face to shine on you.

“This record you have created amongst the many others is to show the world that dedication, humility and the right attitude with God on your side is equal to success.”
