PILLARS END ABIA WARRIORS' UNBEATEN RUN IN KANO

Two quick fire goals from  Nwagua Nyima and Rabiu Ali within a space of two minutes was all Kano Pillars needed to end Abia Warriors' five-match unbeaten run in the on-going Nigeria Professional Football League, codedreporter.blogspot.com.ng gathers.

Nwagua, who is very popular among the home fans, repaid them for their support when he out-paced  Abia Warriors defenders before poking home in the 25th minute.

Two minutes later, skipper of the home side, Rabiu Ali slammed home from close range to make it two nil as the visitors failed to rise to the occasion.

However, Abia Warriors gradually took over as the game wore on and could even have reduced the tally with better organization upfront before retiring to the dressing room.

When play resumed, the Warriors continued the raid of their opponents vital area with Ndifreke Effiong, Sherif Bashir and Shedrack Asiegbu as the tormentors-in-chief while Anthony Okemmiri and Arinze Nwangwu orchestrated proceedings from the middle of the pack but the goals could not just come.

But the home team did not just lie down as Nwagua, Junior Lakosa, Alhassan Ibrahim and Rabiu Ali also made several dangerous incursions into Abia Warriors territory but Chinedu Anozie was always on hand to cut short their ambition of increasing the tally.

With the loss, Abia Warriors now occupy the 14th position on the league table still with 47 points from 35 matches and will next face MFM of Lagos at the Umuahia Township Stadium next Sunday.
