Eagles will dump out Benin for CHAN 2018 ticket- Chikatara



Coach of the home based team of Nigeria Salisu Yusuf has listed 20 players for their upcoming qualifiers against Benin Republic this weekend in the CHAN Qualifiers.

The team is expected to travel by road to Benin Republic today.

Yusuf had earlier dropped Plateau United man, Elisha Golbe and Nigeria Premier League record scorer Mfon Udoh of Enyimba also dropped after picking up injury in their club’s fixtures last weekend.

Goalkeeper Okemuite Odah, Austin Oladapo, Chinedu Ajanah, Prince Aggreh, Emeka Atuloma, Jamiu Alimi and Chiamaka Madu were the others axed by coach Salisu Yusuf.


The star of Nigeria's home-based Super Eagles squad at the 2016 Africa Nations Championship in Kigali, Rwanda with four goals in the group stages, Chisom Chikatara on Thursday expressed belief that the team currently coached by Salisu Yusuf will overcome the Squirrels of Benin Republic in the two-legged fixtures for the 2018 CHAN qualification.‎

"Eagles' should be aware of their antics, they can at worst force a draw in Cotonou and finish the job in Kano later. Yes, we have qualities that can do the country proud and l charge them to utilize any chance that come their way." The Wydad Casablanca of Morocco striker spoke ahead of the game at the Stade La'Amitie.
