NPFL: We are battle ready in Makurdi - Aliko

Akanni Seyi

Niger Tornadoes shall lock horn with Lobi stars of Makurdi in the penultimate weekend of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), match day thirty seven (37) today.

The host will attempt to win the game and sit above their visitor by two points while Tornadoes still have mathematical chance of finishing the season among the top ten clubs.

A big game on the horizon definitely, as in form Anthony Okpotu will like to increase his goal tally to eighteen (18) to catch up with former MFM FC striker, Stephen Odey who is now official property of Fussballclub Zürich, in Switzerland.

Tornadoes have garnered 9points from their previous 5 games and will like to replicate the score line in the reverse fixtures in Lokoja back in April.

Speaking to codedreporter.blogspot.com.ng, the club captain, Aliko Mustafa upbeats about Tornadoes chances of causing a major scare in Aper Aku Stadium.

"It's a game we have been looking forward to, if we could forsake our family in this festive season and intensify our preparation, definitely something good must come our way.

"The entire squad is well focused and battle ready, we are aiming to finish in a comfortable place on the table and surpass our last season's record. We are not here for jamboree, as you can see.

"Lobi Stars can boast of quality technical officials and efficient players that can humble any team any day but we are battle ready to foil their antics. Three points is achievable here with good officiating." Aliko enthused.

The ex Sunshine and Kwara United shot stopper who has kept thirteen (13) clean sheets in the league this term heaps praises on Lokoja fans.

"Lokoja fans are really amazing, they have been supporting us through thick and thin, we shall forever be grateful to them. Though Minna is our home and we are looking forward to that day when our home fans will be able to enjoy their darling team again." He concluded.
