Nationwide League One side, Phoenix Athletic Sports Club of Ekiti, have decided to support the organizers of the Ogunjobi Golden Cup by presenting the tourney Most Valuable Player, Top Scorer and Best Goalkeeper a befitting plaque as way of encouraging them.
Thirty-two grassroots teams in the State of Osun, participated in the tourney sponsored by former Secretary General of Nigeria Football Federation Chief Taiwo Joseph Ogunjobi, and organised by the Osun Football Association, to boost discovery of talents at the grassroots.
Phoenix ASC General Manager, Bayo Olanlege, said they decided to contribute their quota to the success of the second edition of the tourney with the finals scheduled for Saturday September 16, at the Oshogbo Township Stadium, to appreciate the Osun Pillar of Sports.
Olanlege stated further that the tournament's exceptional players must be celebrated hence his team reasons for sponsoring the awards.
However, Nigeria's foremost sports kitting company Cone Sportswear a fortnight ago announced it will kit the finalists.
