The second edition of Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi Golden Cup, has commenced today, Saturday July 1, at the Oshogbo Township Stadium.
Thirty-two grassroots teams in the State of Osun, registered for the tournament and the preliminary matches have commenced as earlier scheduled.
While addressing the participating club owners during the opening ceremony and trophy parade, Engr. Kehinde Aina J. P., a member of Osun F. A. who conveyed the message of Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi to stakeholders, congratulates the participants for taking part in the historic tournament.
" Let me congratulate all of you for honoring this tourney. We stage this tournament mainly for grassroots footballers in the state of Osun to showcase themselves to the public.

" l want you all (players) to exhibit good attitudes during this tournament and obey the rules guiding the game.
" All form of hooliganism will not be tolerated because we have security operatives on ground to assist us. There are scouts on ground to pick exceptional talents on the course of this tournament. Therefore, l enjoin you all to play by the rules and l know sky will be the limit for all of you." Double JP, as he's fondly called concluded.
The tournament which is expected to last till August 21st, is put together by Osun Football Association to celebrate Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, Osun F. A. Chairman, who’s the Special Assistant to the State of Osun Governor on Football Matters.
Meanwhile, Wabkem FC lle-lfe condemned Asunmo United of Osogbo with an unreplied goal, towards the tale end of the second half in the first game of the tournament.
At the time of filing this report, the second half of the second game is underway with Sharp Striker F. C lfon Osun trailing Olorunda United FC with two (2) goals.
The two finalist of this tournament will be entitled to a set of jersey from Nigeria leading sportswear manufacturer, Cone Sportswear Ventures.
