Omoyele's header lifts Osun United


Osun United Football Club laboured to a 1-0 victory over Unicem Rovers Football Club on Sunday behind closed doors at the Oshogbo Township Stadium in one of the Bet9ja NNL Week 21 contest.

Tosin Omoyele celebrated his return to the team squad after three weeks of absent with a goal to increase his tally to nine (9) goals.

The two teams were evenly matched in the early minutes of the contest but Unicem Rovers goalkeeper Franklin Akwari, was forced to pulled incredible saves to deny Omoyele, Mamud Akorede, Alaji Rasaq and Chinedu Emmanuel, who went into act of terrorizing the visitors.

Omoyele's nodding cut Franklin napping from a well tailored cross from Alaji, in the 29th minute to earn the Omoluabi Giants their first win in four games.

Rovers gathered momentum after conceding but their efforts to pull a goal back was thwarted by the disciplined Osun United defence line and goalkeeper Nurudeen Lateef.

Osun United have garnered thirty (30) points from twenty one (21) matches and will be up against Papilo Football Club on Saturday at the Dam Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
